Eat at Legerwood…

At Legerwood we want to provide our guests with flexible catering options to suit all requirements.

Our exclusive-use properties come with fully kitted out self-catering kitchens so that guests can look after themselves.

However, for guests staying in The Steading, if you are coming for a special occasion or you would just like some time away from the oven, we can provide a private chef who will cook for you out of the separate caterer’s kitchen within the property. We can comfortably seat up to 24 guests.

FIELD TO FORK
As farmers, it comes as no surprise that supporting local producers is high on our list of priorities. If you do opt for a catered service during your stay, you could sample our own beef, lamb or game for dinner, our neighbour’s eggs for breakfast and many other locally sourced ingredients from the Borders. For guests who are interested, we offer farm tours to showcase the land we farm and it’s history. You can read more about this in the Experience section of the website.

Private catering…

There are two options if you would like food cooked for you during your stay.

1. Self Serve

Homemade, oven-ready 2 course meals that are in your fridge on arrival, ready for you to heat up and serve at your leisure (£46pp incl. VAT based on a group size of 18).

2. Private Chef

Fully catered, 4 course, private dinner party including; table laying, full service and tidying up £80pp incl. VAT based on a group size of 18).

Our chefs are also available to come and cook a served and tidied full Scottish breakfast for our guests (£25pp incl. VAT based on a group size of 18). Alternatively, we can provide a ‘self-serve’ breakfast option where ingredients for both a hot and cold breakfast are supplied for the ease of guests to serve/cook themselves.

Take a look at our sample menus to get a flavour of what we offer. However, we are very happy to devise menus specifically tailored to guest’s tastes or requirements.

Please note at busy times of year (e.g. lambing time) we may not be able to offer our 'in house' catering, but we will always offer you an excellent alternative so you can still enjoy catering during our stay.

Fully Hosted Package - Dinner, Bed & Breakfast

For guests who would like to be catered for throughout their entire stay at The Steading we offer a fully hosted Dinner, Bed and Breakfast rate of £400 per person, per night (incl. VAT) based on a group of 8 or 9 guests for a minimum of 2 nights. Any second occupants of rooms are £125 (incl. VAT) per person, per night.

The fully hosted package includes afternoon tea on arrival and on any subsequent afternoons during your stay, a full private chef meal each evening with canapés, starter, main, desert and cheese courses, and a full breakfast each morning. Ingredients are sourced from our own farm or local producers and prepared in the separate caterer’s kitchen within The Steading by our exceptional private chefs.

Peter and Jo will host your entire stay, along with members of their team who not only help to lay, serve and clear meals but serve you drinks, provide housekeeping each morning and do all we can to make your stay as relaxed and enjoyable as you could hope for.
